header fitment

will my headers from my 289 in my falcon work when i switch to a 351w with afr185s.
i know the 351 has a higher deck witch will raise the header but doesnt the afr also have a raised exhaust port.
looking at my headers now they are about 3/4"from the crossmember will this be a problem.

i think you are going to have problems with fit, but not likely the crossmember. remember that since the 289 is narrower than the 351w, the headers can make a gentler tunr off the head. where you will likely have clearance problems is at the shock tower. the headers will physically bolt up though. usually i recomend getting a set of block hugger shorty headers when swaping the 351w in place.

Talk to Stan at Ford Powertrain. He has the headers that fit this combo.

Be sure to mention the bolt patter (2&quot since 'AFR' is generic and Stan makes the 3" pattern for the 205's also.

Search this forum for pics from others that have run his headers and comments made....
