Can I run these pushrods?

I have a 66 289.I just ordered comp cams replacement pushrods and they are visibly longer. In the Tom Monroe book it lists the pre-69 small blocks as having pushrods 6.825 long. The comp cams 7831-16 pushrods that they sent me are 6.876 or .051 longer. These are supposed to be for 65 and up small blocks.I also had my stock 289 valves resurfaced so they are a little shorter than stock.I'm running the comp cams self aligning magnum roller tipped rockers. Can I run these pushrods or do I need to get a custom length.I see comp cams lists a set of -.060 302 pushrods that are 6.816 inches long which is very close to the stock 6.825 289 length. It just seems wierd to me that they don't list any difference in length for the early small blocks so maybe its no big deal?

The only way to be sure of proper pushrod length & valve train geometry is to verify it with an adustable pushrod checker.

I just tried covering the valve tip with black magic marker and running the valves throught their cycles once and took a look. The new longer push rods put the rockers off centre about a millimeter or so towards the exhaust side of the head. The stock 289 pushrod put them centred perfectly. How critical is this for a mild street engine? It basically looks just like the first two examples in this link http://circletrack.com/techarticles/4635/ where they exchange the first pushrod for a .050 shorter rod.(note you have to close the picture after you click on it to enlarge or it just keeps showing the same picture.

Are all your valves the same height. I would buy 2 length checker pushrods check all 16 valves and then get a set custom made, or buy the right lengths. This would give me great peace of mind.
