What gains can i expect?

Hello to all. I have an 89GT. The motor is stock 5.0.
I am running an AOD trans(stock).
4:10 gears
BBK shorty headers
21/2" exhaust through flowmasters with turndowns
No Cats
Weld wheels 255-60's on rear skinnies on front
27 psi in rears at track(street radials)
very little burn out, no spin off the line
The best i have run in the 1/8th is 9.77
I am fixin to install the following;
Eibach drag launch springs
Granatelli Motorsports upper and lower control arms
Lakewood 70/30 drag struts front
Lakewood 50/50 rear shocks
subframe connectors

What kind of gains do you think i will see?

I have 160k on the motor, so i figured i will do everything i can to the car and save the motor for last. I dont want to add a lot of mods to the engine just to have it go out on me. The car is a daily driver, so i plan on keeping the A/C and other niceties. I appreciate any input i can get on this. I am new to the 5.0 engines. Have been a chevy guy most of my life. However now own this one and a 1973 mach 1. I have just recently set my timing to 12 initial the correct way. I had played with it at the track but without removing the electrical advance. It runs much better now. I have also set the TPS to .993, which took care of my idle hunting problem.
Thanks in advance!

If your not spinning now, you will go slower because of the added weight

Reguardless of whether i am currently spinning or not, would the performance mods not drop the time some. I would think that my 60 ft. times would drop. Spinning the tires is dependant on how i launch. I can spin off the line and have in the past if i just stomp on it. I was curious of how much quicker my time will be with the added mods. I dont think my weight is going to change enough to matter at this time. Does anyone else agree or am I wrong about this?

This is kind of a tough question to answer. All of your new mods will basically only help with traction..If traction isn't a problem they aren't going to do much if anything. If you are holding back on the launch to prevent tire spin then they may help a fair bit.Only you know if you are holding back or not?

I have one more question. I know that running at the strip without the front sway bar is suppose to help. Is there any gains to be had with removing the rear one? Pros and cons; anyone had experience with this? Thanks in advance!

I think a piece might be getting left out - are you holding back on your launch to avoid spinning now, or do you have full traction at WOT? If you're not fighting traction problems now, I'm not sure how you'll benefit from a better weight shift

As of right now, I am holding back some. If i just punch it off the line, i will spin.

All of your mods are designed to aid in traction and overall stiffening of your car. This will make the car more stable but as for improvement=IMHO not much if any. Now, if improvement is your goal, I would do the mods and add one more option: some type of drag tires. It could be some drag radials, DOT rated slicks, or ET drag tires. I am sure your 60ft are not stellar. Adding the tires will work well with the rest of your mods and will let you launch where you would like to launch. Your 60ft times as well as your ET's will drop and you will be money well spent. IMHO-keep the rear bar.

Well, I just wanted to let everyone know that i have been back to the track and I ran a best of 9.68. I dropped the pressure in my back tires to 24. Other than that I ran the same set up. I am pleased with my new suspension. I get full traction off the line with a small burn-out. Thanks for all the input.
