can u change the timing on a 66 289 stock internals for more hp or anything

what is your timing at now initial total. If your timeing is way off ya you can get more hp out of it it all depends no one can help you with a post like this. stock internals what do you mean ? rotating assembly, cam heads ignition ... all of this will matter

289 with msd 6 box msd wires msd coil headers flowmasters edelbrock air gap intake edelbrock 4bbl and its set at the stock timing right now

[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif[/img]set your initial timing at 10 degrees btdc, then later push it to 12 then 14. if you get detonation, back it down untill the detonation goes away.

I'm running 18 initial on my 289. Run as much base as you can until she starts to ping.
