need help quick

I'm trying to start my car with the new engine, and it starts up then dies. My first question is does a bigs 750 stage 5 have to have pressure all the time to keep the car running. The reason I ask that is b/c my old holley double pumper I had on my 302 would run with no fuel pressure as long as the fuel bowls were full. Then when they ran out it would cut off. The reason I don't have my fuel pump running but a couple of seconds at the time is b/c I don't have my fuel pressure guage yet. So I don't know how much pressure it's putting out, and I don't wont to mess up my carb. But what is happening is I hit the throttle linkage and spay gas down the intake and then start it. It cranks up and burns the gas and the dies. What's the possible problems. It starts fine, so I don't think the timing is an issue, and theres no backfiring.

I would be able to help but I am unfamiliar with a Biggs anything.... But it does sound like you need some air/fuel mixture screws adjusted... and maybe go with the fuel pump every 2 to 3 seconds to keep fuel goin in in case the float levels are waaay off...

Is this supposed to be a break in run on a newly built motor?
