1925 Model T im thinking about getting

Im thinking about getting this old 1925 Model T that a guy down the street has for sale, but some things look a little shotty on it. The shock towers are pretty messy, (did this car even come with shock towers) and they installed a rack and pinion, with Mcpherson struts. I dont know what they did, i can only think of some type of conversion. But i took pics of all this, and would like to post them to get some feed back from you guys on if it is a good set up or if it should be changed or if it is EVEN WORTH the trouble. How do i post pics? Can i email them to someone to post?

The 1925 Model T nor any other 1925 ford's had Shocks... so the towers will naturally look shoddy if you ask me.... I would do the pics for you but I am leaving the computing community on thurssday evening and won't be on for about a month or so.... Moving to Cali.

The Model T is born with a transverse mounted leaf spring in the front. Shocks were available as an aftermarket item. Hasslers were one example. So any shock tower is gonna look really funky.

To post pics you need to subscribe to FordMuscle or use another hosting site then use the "Forum code" to add them to a post. You copy and paste the code into your post.

I recieved the pictures VIA E mail from Andy, and from the pics it seams to have a Fox front and rear suspension. I am not sure what frame they are "tacked" on to. It just don't look right to me.

Being from the old school: I prefer leaf springs on the back and a Ford front end with a Vega box. Maybe even a Pinto / Mustang II front end.

Really like the 37/40 Ford "suicide" front end better.

Is it unlikely that it is on the Origanal frame? what would show that it is the original frame?

the guy is asking $2,500, but i think that he will go down. It starts and runs just fine. did not drive it but i will see if he will let me. Do you think its worth it? i would like to just make it a RAT ROD. i dont care about looks a whole lot, but the frame has to be able to put up with 400 Ponnies. I want to throw a 351, or 460 in it (if it will fit).

That guy hosed that thing up bad. I wouldn't pay more than $500.00 for it.

I wouldnt drive that if you paid me. Just the way the lower control arms were attached is pretty scary.

If you want the body, and are willing to redo the frame, to make it safe, I'd offer maybe $800 give or take. Depends mostly on the mileage of the drivetrain, and the condition of the body that hasnt been hacked to death.
