Need help with drag race front end.

I just finished installing a set of Moroso trick front springs in my 68 mustang coupe. I have an iron headed 466 that puts out about 560 horse. I got the lightest spring rate for a big block that I could . they are 242lb.
The problem is that the front end sits like a truck up in the air, nose high. Will they settle? The front end is about three inches higher than it was with the 720's. I want it to have a nice stance but still transfer the weight to the rear for traction.
What are you big block stang guys using for front springs?I will chuck these coils If I have to. I just need to get this car to hook up bad!! If you guys need additional info just ask.
Bob
Oh, I have to add that these coils were a real BITCH to get installed. They are so freakin TALL!

It will settle but no where near 3" maybe 1 1/2 in a year.If you want it down now I would start by cutting 1 coil and if more is needed cut a half at a time there after.

I have the Moroso's and had to cut nearly 2 coils to get rid of that 4x4 look and that was after they had ben installed for 3 months waiting on them to settle... Since you have the big block, try strapping the car down to your trailer for a week or so (if possible). Others have suggested having the springs banded for a month prior to installing the to get them broke-in so to speak.

Did you loosen the upper A-arm bolts while you were putting them in? If so did you tighten them with the front end in the air? If you did that, then you preloaded the front end that way. Loosen the upper A-arm bolts and lower the front end on the ground and bounce it a few times. Then tighten the Upper A-arm bolts.

Don't cut them, if you have to cut a set of springs it means you have the wrong springs. Take them to a spring shop and have them banded to where they are at coil bind. Let them set for as long as possible. "Doorslammers: The Chassis Book" has a great section on coil springs, I would suggest that you read that book!!

Thanks guys. My a -arms move freely. the damn spring perches are stiff as hell. I cant even move them by hand. I might just send them back and get a set of 302 or 6 cyl springs.Which do you guys suggest?
