driveshaft

Hey I just did this on my 65 fastback. My drive shaft came from the salvage yard. I just tape measured my old shaft and went and found one that was the same length and fairly large in diameter. I took that and my yokes over to a local drive shaft shop and they put it all together and balanced it. My total investment was $175.

On a side note;
I weighed my parts and the aluminum shaft saved 4 pounds so I thought that was significant considering I sling the thing at 7000 rpms. In fact from what everybody has said it doesn't do much of anything as far as performance is concerned. The only advantage I got from all that was going to something that was stronger than the stock u-joints which were designed for a 6 cylinder falcon.
