Question for Mavman and others

Mavman I have read old post about your experience with Edlebrock RPM heads on your Maverick. You said you went from 7.90's to 7.30's in the 1.8th with no other changes. i was wondering how much your 60 ft and 330 ft dropped and how much MPH you picked up.

If anyone has had any similar experience with the RPM heads how much did the help and/or if you are running a combination that has RPM heads what is it and what does it ET.

Question for Mavman and others

60's went from 1.69-1.71 to 1.55-1.60 330's also dropped about .3 or more (can't remember exact times) and the MPH was nearly 10 mph faster--which is a good indication of the horsepower increase. Went from 94 mph in the 1000' to almost 105, no other changes other than heads & jetting. Then later on, I retarded the timing from 38 to 34 by accident (don't ask...LOL) and picked up another .2 and 1 mph. That was all changing over to the RPM old style heads (6025) from mildly ported C9TE 302 heads that had 1.94/1.60 valves, screw in studs & guideplates and full roller rockers.

Friend of mine has a set of RPM heads on another Maverick....377 windsor....runs 6.80's in the 1/8. Dad has my old RPM heads on his 331 in the Fairmont and has run 6.90's...BUT this season will bring a few changes, hoping for 6.60's. If everything goes right, we should blow the 6.60 mark right out of the water, but I'd just like to pick up around .3 and that'd tickle him pink. BTW, the changes don't include head porting. Didn't have the $$$ for that.

I don't know much about it. 377w...C4...9" with 4.86 gears, 29.5x11.5 rear tires. I would guess about a 4500 converter, but that's a wild guess. Says he shifts at 6800, crosses the line at 6900-7000 +/-. Naturally aspirated of course, Vic Jr intake w/850 carb. Flat top cast pistons, IIRC. Been beating on it for about 5 years now LOL.
