At that high an rpm range the X pipe will be the best because of its ability to scavenge the tubes. H pipes work equally well at lower rpm ranges. Besides the X will make 7500 sound more like 10k rpm.

I'll also recommend the 'X' pipe. You'll love the sound and the little bit of extra power you'll get.

X pipe has proven time again to be the better setup. But not just any old setup. H pipe was alright in it's day, just old tech now. X pipe will cost you more and not many shops can do it. You can always get a good one and take it with you to have them install it.

X! It makes it sound much smoother, and does give it a nice sound (not like bumblebee weedeater sound) but it makes the exhaust more pitched than stock... I love the way my car sounds with the X.

Exhaust, Dual, X, H, ???
Here's a good thread on the subject.
http://bbs.hardcore50.com/vbulletin/...highlight=pipe
To save the trouble of reading it, George Klass says the H-Pipe wins everytime on the dyno.

They sound different for sure, other than that the H Pipe gives you a little more in the lower RPM's, the X Pipe takes over once the engine gets spinning fast, but the peak is usually only slightly higher than the H Pipe. So where do you want your power, hi or low?

Exhaust, Dual, X, H, ???
I have yet to see a fair comparison between X and H. The only way to truly tell is to cut out the H, put in an X, leave EVERYTHING else in the exhaust system the same, and make sure the Air/fuel is still in check and get it back on the dyno. One comparison I saw compared full 2.5" H-pipe system to an X with 2.5" from the header to the X and 3" out of the X and the rest of the way back... who in their right ming would call that a fair comparison?

I agree that H is old-tech. The X has all the benefits of the H with some of its own.
In effect, the X is an H, the gas just doesn't have to change direction as much to equalize. I mean, instead of having a separate tube to connect the exhaust pipes, the pipes are just brought closer so they touch and share a small bit of area.
With an H you have gasses that have to turn a 90 degree angle to see the other pipe. with an x, its effectively not much of a turn.
