Tru-Trac vs Trac-Loc

I'm getting closer to the 9" installation, but I"m not sure which diff to go with. I have narrowed it down to a Tru-Trac or Trac-Loc. Can anyone tell me how much if any more torque bias the Tru-Trac has over the Trac-Loc? I mean is it more aggressive (closer to locker) than the Trac-Loc or about the same.

I have also heard of people adding extra clutches to the trac-loc to make it more aggressive. Does anyone have procedures on that or does it cause more harm than good?

Thanks,

Tru-Trac vs Trac-Loc

http://www.kevinstang.com/Ninecase.htm

This site has some information on

Equa-loc vs. Trac-loc vs. detroit locker.

Yes, a professional can setup a trac-loc to live under spirited use, but if you have any pretention toward wailing on that rear-end on the track, with slicks, etc...you might want to seriously look into Detroit locker. I have had cars with the detroit locker in them...if they aren't setup just right or the moon isn't in phase when yours is put together...expect it click, pop and generally protest when ever it needs to differentiate .

How much that noise bothers you, seems to go up with age and/or the amount of street use the car gets.

Tru-Trac vs Trac-Loc

I have installed several dozen Tru-Tracs in the past few years, and I would not use anything else except a true Detroit Locker. They are not harsh at all, and you cannot even tell it is a locking diff. They are far more durable than a Trac Loc.

F15 just to clarify ,you use the detroit brand tru tracs? Just the Detroit locker bit threw me off as in an actual detroit locker type centre.

Tractech makes the genuine Detroit Locker and the Truetrac.

just a a complete 3rd member from currie with the truetrac, no problems, only thing is that when you turn you can feel both wheels turning seems kind of weird but it takes getting used to.

What I meant was that the only thing other than the True Trac that I would use would be the original Detroit locker, which are both made by the same company.
