GT40 heads off of 96 explorer...how much lift will they take?

Ok guys, I about ready to start putting a 351 together. This is a buget build and I can't afford to change springs or put on better roller rockers. I've got a set of gt40 heads off of a 96 explorer. These are gt40, not gt40p.

I'm trying to pick out a cam so I need to know how much lift the stock springs can take?

Also, does anyone know the chamber size of the gt40s that came on 96 explorers?

thanks
Austin

Most of the GT-40's I've seen with stock springs need to stay under .5

According to fletch's 5.0 site they are in the 59-61cc range.

That is for GT40P iron Heads.
GT40 iron Heads have a larger combustion chamber which ford says is 64cc.
You are looking at 9.0:1 compression with stock type flat top pistons.
This site says they are 65.6 cc -->

64cc nominal, which to Ford means anything between 60 and 66. The ones on the Mustang are 61cc and have been cut to get there from 64cc (measured). If you get some, measure - don't guess.

So looks like if I use these heads on a zero decked 351W, w/ 22cc dish pistons I'm looking at

If chamber is 60cc then my compression would be 9.0:1
If chamber is 66cc then my compression would be 8.5:1

Like ckelly said, I need to messure.
