You do realize that the ebay motor is 2000 dollars less than the FRPP engine and makes more HP?

I don't think that "not" specializing in one brand of motor necessarily discounts their credibility. Nor does your not ever hearing of them.
Infact, I think that building a variety of engines shows skill level and forsight.

</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE>Comparing the T and L 408 to the FRPP M-6007-C392 shows their "over 450hp" to FRPP's 475hp(which is underrated) and the C392 uses a new Sportsman block and has all forged internals, comes with a billet dist(timing preset on dyno) and WP.

BTW I also checked their feedback and most if not all were related to timely shipping and transaction terms not HP production or durability. Also I guess you missed the fact that of their 88 total feedbacks 79 of them were in the past 12 months and 69 were within the past 6 months.

Personally I'd be wary of someone hawking something for less than 1/2 a year and claiming a good rep that no one you know can back up. Then again it's your $5300, not mine so good luck.
</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE>

You are quoting a different engine than the one I looked at on the Ford site.
The FRP engine I compared the ebay engine to was a 430hp 392 for 6800.00. That's 1900 more for less hp.
I couldn't find a 408 to compare to on the frp site.
The 392 you saw is 7900.00. Thats 2900 more than the ebay motor.
My point was to see if the ebay motor was a deal and so far I haven't seen anything better when comparing apples to apples, or as close as I could get.
Thanks for all the replies.

Just spec'd out a 351C shortblock engine with them for my new 91 GT project. There crunching the numbers for me and I'll know the results some time this week. I'm looking for 600+hp for a mostly street driven car with maybe 6 trips to IRP.

We're looking at either a 351ci mill with 9:1 comp and twin turbos or 393-408ci with 11:1 NA both for pump gas. Either combo will have CHI 218cc 351C heads, solid flat tappet cam and EFI. They're wanting a Dart block but I'm leaning toward an Aussie 351C block.

I just got a quote back from DSS for a 408 long block with 550 flywheel hp. 7949.95 zoinks!
Guess I'm back to piecing together a motor.

This is copied from a PDF file sent to me from DSS. It looks like a nice engine but to too rich for my blood.

$3600 for a professionally prepped and assembled shortblock is not bad at all.
