Ebay 408

Maybe this has been covered before but I couldn't find it.

Does this look like a deal?
I don't think I could build one with the same parts for much less. It's 350.00 to ship.

I've been around Nascar for about 25 years and have never heard of T and L engines, not once. Personally for the money, I'd look at a Ford only shop like CHP, DSS, Livernois, Powered By Ford, Glidden Racing, Roush. Do not discount FRPP's crate engines either, most of them are underrated.

You do realize that the ebay motor is 2000 dollars less than the FRPP engine and makes more HP?

I don't think that "not" specializing in one brand of motor necessarily discounts their credibility. Nor does your not ever hearing of them.
Infact, I think that building a variety of engines shows skill level and forsight.

Just did a search for T&L Engine Development and got two hits.
One was from circletrack.com and the other was pmrparts.com
Both sites had engines built by them and atricles that include them.
At least I know they arent scammers.

I checked their ebay feedback and all looks good also.

BTW I also checked their feedback and most if not all were related to timely shipping and transaction terms not HP production or durability. Also I guess you missed the fact that of their 88 total feedbacks 79 of them were in the past 12 months and 69 were within the past 6 months.

Personally I'd be wary of someone hawking something for less than 1/2 a year and claiming a good rep that no one you know can back up. Then again it's your $5300, not mine so good luck.

Well the ford motorsports engine is spoting the T&L engine 25-to-40 horses??
Hmm for $2600 it better.
If youll notice the ford engine has a victor manifold. The T&L engine has a Performer RPM. The victor has horrible street manners.
Does anyone need a sportsman block for under 650 horse motor?
not from what ive heard. If you were to turbo this engine id say yah you have an issue.
And as a fellow ebayer does the feedback timeline have anything to do with it?? No not at all. Unless they had 600 feedbacks within a month of starting out.
Its apparent that they take care of the customer.
As far as the "25 years of NASCAR race experience" Its not nessasarlly that theve been building race engines as a COMPANY for 25 years. Its most likely that they have collectively 25 years of experiance in there labor force who have worked in nascar engines.
Just a thought.

Took me few sec. on Google to find this :

"The "one" to which Moroch refers is T&L Engine Development. T&L was not exclusive to one team, but worked with several different teams and organizations. Many teams leased engines from T&L, and, as part of the lease, T&L assigned an employee to work with each team at track."

www.racing.ups.com/racing/team_members/attrack_crew/enginetuner_bio.html

..also here are T&L mentioned as the engine manufacturer: www.andyponstein.com/car.asp

If it were my money I'd get one from DSS. Bullet Longblocks

Check out the specs for the Pro Bullet 408W 500+hp and all forged internals for $6100-up complete or $3499-up and add your heads and valvetrain.

Looks like a hell of an endorsement of their claims to me.
Uno id be all for buying the ford engine if there labor rates and profit margins wernt so high. Which is why the $2600 differance. The parts that they use are more expensive yes, BUT remember that they arent 'paying' the retail cost for those items from 'themselves'.
Just remember that Ford as a company is run by accountants, and stockholders, all they care about is profit. And they like 90% of all Big American companies wont offer something for sale unless theres big markup on it. ( off topic i understand, Sorry)
Im still Ford blue though. And thats all ill ever own.
