Is my fuel system adequate for a nitrous system?

Hi folks,
I have a 420 stoker motor with a Holley carb. I have a Mallory 140 GPH pump running from a sumped tank. I have -08 lines throughout. I also have the Mallory return style regulator with -8 line returning to the tank. I have the fuel pressure set at 6 PSI and it NEVER wavers. Since my regulator has several ports, I thought I could just run a -8 line from the regulator over to the fuel solenoid for the nitrous system. Most nitrous systems like around 6 PSI anyway.

Since I already have to garden hoses running to and from the fuel tank with a great fuel system, I was hoping I did not need another pump and regulator. I have not purchased anything for the nitrous system yet.

If i was doing it my self i would run two pumps or get one big pump 280 gph

I wonder how these manufacturers claim in their install manual to just run a tee off of the fuel supply to the carb? I was just reading the NOS, Edelbrock and NX manuals and they were all saying that up to about 150 HP the stock fuel system should be adequate. ..??

Is there a way to test one of the other ports on my reg, under load to see if it will deliver 6psi for a typical nitrous shot? without actually having the nitrous system?

How big of a shot do you plan to run? I think if you had a 150 or smaller you shouldn't have a problem. I have a blue holley that runs my 408 and a 150 shot with no problems. I have a friend that has been running a stroker BBC with a 225 shot and a single holley red top. Not ideal but he has been doing if for years.
Just make sure to get a fuel pressure safty switch. If the pressure drops it kills the NOS...

Sounds like a decenty big motor, I would invest in a dedicated fuel system for the NO2 system, Its cheap insurance.
