Throttle Linkage

I just put a 408 into a 85 mustang that I bought. I't has a victor jr. intake, 4150 series holley carb on top of a dedenbear throttle stop. What are you guys using for throttle linkage ? The car came with a stock type cable and a small aluminum bracket that was custom made to fit on the rear stud of the carb mount but it won't allow the throttle to open all the way. Just thought I would see what other people are doing before I make something.
Thanks
Bill
