X303 Experiences???

Would appreciate hearing your experience on whether or not you had to fly-cut your pistons to use the X303 camshaft using all stock 5.0L equipment?

Why would you even bother putting an X cam in a stock engine? You will be VERY disappointed.

It's not stock; just using that example. Deck height is stock. Bore and stroke is standard. Flat top pistons with valve reliefs.

What's your compression and gear ratio?

I estimate the compression will be around 10:1. I'm using ported 289 54cc chamber heads, flat top pistons (no more than 0.010" below the decks). The rear-end gears are 4.10's.

The X303 should work very nicely!

Any issues with piston to valve clearance in your combination?

I did my clearance checks last night and I ended up seeing all intakes around 0.140" clearance. Exhausts were a non-issue.

nope you get into p/v issuse with the dur/overlap and no so much lift, the x is nit realy that much bigger than the b,now the z cam might have some issuse, the smaller the valve the more clearance you'll have,,hell ive got a stock 5.0L block 0 deck height,4-eye brow pistons, edel perf rpm heads,1.90/1.60, .565/.565 232/238 @.050 heads milled .025,just barely had to cut on the pistons, you def need to check either way
