I am getting ready to assemble a 5.0. The manual I am using says "some bolts reqire thread sealer". Can someone please give me a source to find out which ones do. Head bolts, intake manifold, timing cover, water pump?

Also which sealers are most of you using. Different one for water, oil, exhaust gas exposure?

I use the RTV occasionally, but only when going into wqater jackets. Bolts going into oil passages will seal themselves.

Your head bolts go into water. I use a product from loctite, it's a sealer and thread lube. Sorry I can't remember the name or #. I usally have to ask for it as it's not on the display in the parts store here. Your flywheel bolts need sealing also.

Only some engines have head bolts going in to the water jackets....

The lower head bolts require a sealer. Use Permetex tread sealant. It is like a paste and comes in a botle with a brush.

I like the ARP thread sealant, it lubricates as well.

Plumbers pipe dope works too.

Checker auto parts, and I believe autozone as well carry Indian Head Sealer (little brown bottle with an indian on it). That stuff works excellent and it's what I used on my headbolts.
