holley idle

I need to know if there is a way to turn the idle down on my holley besides the idle screw on the throtle linkage.Mine is idling way to high and I can't ajust the idle down with the screw on the likage any more it is out all the way now.

sounds like more of a problem than the screw, is the linkage returning all the way? correct throttle cable? timing too high? advance in dizzy stuck, ?big vacuum leak? etc:

like fomoco8 said, its probably the throttle cable or linkage problem

also cant a vacuum leak cause high idle too?

Check to make sure choke isnt hanging up on fast idle, also the secondaries have an idle adjuster too, adjustable from the bottom of the carb

Smetimes the rear return spring for the secondries is tired or not installed from the factory with enough revolusions of spring around the throttle plate shaft, causing the secondary plates not to close all the time, or not close interminttantly.

Open and close the full assembly 10 times, and see if the secondaries return to the closed position every time ( withn the carb off the car...)
