2.3 flywheels

Hi everyone! I'm going to install a 2.3 engine from a 1981 mustang into my 88 ranger pickup,the engine that was in the pickup i think was a 2.0. Both manual trans. The flywheel from the mustang is about 1/2 inchthicker than the flywheel from the2.0 If i use the 2.0 flywheel on the 2.3 will this change the balance of the engine? You would think the truck engine would have the thicker flywheel. The numbers on the flywheels are 2.3 D4ZE-AA. 2.0 number is E27R-AA. The 2.0 flywheel looks to be the same as the 2.8 v-6 flywheel.

the thicker flywheel will give you interference problems to the release bearing leave the 2.3 fw on the 2.3 or get the right 2.3 FW

You are right about the iterference problems, that is the main reason i thought about using the 2.0 flywheel on the 2.3. The pickup truck has a hyd. release bearing the mustang did not. Thanks for the reply.
