best trans cooler design?

Okay since I can't run a deep sump pan on my new AOD with 3500 stall, I'm looking for the best heat transfer potential in a cooler.
There are three basic designs.
1. The tried and true tube and fin design, normally copper or aluminum tubes with aluminum fins. Flex a lite or Perma cool.
2. Stacked plate design like the B&M super cooler.
3. Extruded aluminum heat sink style usually sized by length 8" up to about 30"
I have been using a tube and fin 7.5"X14" on my C4 and it lasted many years but I really would like to not block my radiator if I don't have to.
In the refrigeration industry it seems everyone thinks the plate and frame is the most efficient using calculations for delta-T. I wanna know what you guys think.

I have had the best luck with stacked plate with a fan Large B&M with fan keeps my high stall rollerized C6 at 180 or lower on a 90 degree day,

A stacked plate and fan combo is the best setup and it allows for installation nearly anywhere and at any angle(vertically, horizontally).

The plate is the most efficent, with the only disadvantage being, if you get any trash in the system, it can not be completely cleaned out with a plate. With the plates design, there is not fixed flow path, so trash can get lodged in it, then break free latter. This can be dealt with by installing a filter after the cooler to clean after a mishap. If not, the cooler would need to be replaced,
