If you mean how are the cylinders numbered..... most V8's cylinder number 1 is the most forward cylinder. The 302 is numbered 1234 (right bank/passenger side from the front) and 5678 on the other side (left bank/driver side from the front.

The farthest foreward Cylinder is #1 on ALL car's with the exception of a couple older vehicles (the names of which escape me at this time), which have a slightly diffrent block style and it's easy to confuse which is the most foreward.
