Front Sway Bar, Should I take it out?
I have 65 fairlane and I was reading some posts about the front sway bar. Should that be take out, I only drive my car to the strip and back home. I have comp Eng front and rear shocks, will this help my car launch better?
Thanks.

Front Sway Bar, Should I take it out?
For sure take it out. I run the CE 90/10's on mine in the front and have not had a sway bar on it in months. I drive the car to and from track as well and cruise around town w/ no problems, just don't expect her to take curves fast, i also give plenty of room when slowing but i'm just a cautious driver anyway. After going to the track i don't drive fast at all on the streets.. I think it will help to taking the 15-20 lbs off the front end and transfer weight better.

I know you want to take your front sway bar out. But, This is to smblktbolt, I just added a rear sway bar to my 64 Fairlane. So far it feels like a new car.

Front Sway Bar, Should I take it out?
Mdula, I took the car out for the first time last weekend and the best time so far was 14.42 @ 95.85 but I need to jet-up the carb becasue I can't rev it past 5500. I am also installing a 2800-3200 stall this weekend and doing some chassis mods. I think that it will be in the 13"s next time out.

I agree, take if off if not much highway driving. I pulled mine off 3 years ago, and no problems.

Front Sway Bar, Should I take it out?
Used to take mine off for the track and put it back on after the drive home. Now I just leave it sitting on the floor in the garage so I can trip over it every now and again.
My understanding is that it takes some weight off of the front and allows the suspension to let the front lift up better. Just what I've heard.

Isn't it funny how that works. You go to the track and all of a sudden fooling around on the streets is not the fun it used to be. Same thing happened to me.
I have 620 lbs front coils and Koni shocks up front so I hardly notice any difference without the sway bar. More of a road race style suspension. With your set up I'm sure it's much different.
