On my son's fresh 347 we're having some issues regarding oil being pushed out into the K and N filter via the short tube from the valve cover.
The valve covers are the Trick Flow aluminums. Unfortunately when you get them they do not have any grommet holes bored in them nor do they have baffles. On the drivers side we don't have anything on that cover.
On the passenger side at the front we mounted a grommet and installed a tube which connects to a nipple into the CAI.
I'm thinking that this small tube is a bit restrictive and under WOT a negative pressure is forcing oil out the tube into the air inlet.
As the pcv valve is at the rear of the intake I was thinking about purchasing a set of those universal polymer stands that are mentioned in the tech section on this forum.
I would put a K and N breather on one on the drivers side and another on the passenger side that could be used for oil fill as well and delete that nipple on the air intake.
Then theres the option of a catch can.
With the rounded profile of the Trick Flow covers I'm not sure if those stands will conform to the shape of the surface. They seem to be reasonably priced though.
Has anyone used these stands? Opinions?
Suggestions?? thanks..........John
My experience is u need to vent from both valve covers and include a baffle. Fe sure the fitting and lines are not too small, bigger is better in this situation. I run NA carb and use vented catch cans on my road race car.
