\"rolling fenders\"

Red hot is near 975F. Not going to get there with a hair dryer.

Only reason I prefer rolling to grinding is if you're stuffing a LOT of tire in there, and it's close...the cut edge can still rip the tire up.

This is very true...my new Azenis RT 615 tires have a wider footprint than my old tires...same size but wider. They got cut up a bit when turning sharp in parking lots or driveways so I whipped out the die grinder again and trimmed the lips down to about 1/8" on top and wider as you go forward and aft. They were about 1/4" on the top. The lip provides strength to the fender so I didn't want to eliminate it.

\"rolling fenders\"

it wasnt a hair dryer, it was a heat gun. I assume the heat gun was more for the paint so it wouldnt crack. But with as thin as the sheet metal is, im sure it dont hurt.

I ended up stopping using the heat gun about 1/4 of the way through the job. It was to0 much work and it's getting repainted anyways.
