Thanks guys, I have the linked diagram for the tach adapter, as well as for the 6AL.
What i don't get from the instructions for the current triggered configuration of the tach adapter is what wire on the tach to connect to the Ignition Key On wire. Would that be the red one or the black one?
And then I guess the other would go to the red wire on the tach adapter, but I don't know which one.
The other part of the question about the Ignition Key On source of power, is where to take it from. Certain diagrams I have refer to it coming off down the line past a pink resistor wire. The 6AL box instructions suggest not using any type of ballast resistor in the Ignition Key On line to it. So, should I bypass that resistor wire going to the factory tach?

I'm thinking red wire from tach to hot side of ignition key,
other side of tach goes to red wire off the tach adapter.
I don't know that it matters. It doesn't on a Faria tach and
that's basically the same circuitry as a Ford factory tach.
(Faria/Rotunda/Rally Pac have no designated polarity)
The pink wire becomes redundant and unnecessary in that
loop to the tach. The signal that runs your tach is no longer
being generated the original way, it's coming off the tach
connection on the MSD box. Just bypass or ignore the pink wire by running a wire from the hot side of the key to the
tach. (You could run it from the battery if you wanted, but
the tach would never really be unpowered if you did that)
