same boat

I know a lot of you are in the same boat I am in trying to restore your Ford on limited funds. I need a gallon of paint to cut in all my jams, hood, trunk and firewall but found out that my paint from local dupont jobber was $427.00 for base paint only no clear or reducers. This code CK 1997 Ford Lapis blue does not seem to be anything that special but I need to find a discount source either ppg or dupont preimum base color. Any ideas please that do not involve omni or other lesser grade paint sources? I know somewhere out there is a body shop owner with a mixing machine willing to help a fellow car guy.
Thanks Rod
63.5 all the way....

Re: same boat

Google "$50 paint job". Theres a thread going around about painting your car with Rustoleum or Brightside boat paint and a foam roller. Seems labor intensive, but you can do it in your yard without the town or neighbors complaining about the smell/fumes from spraying. I'll let you know how it works. I have a 76 maverick the I'm going to try the Brightside in. I've used it to paint my boat 12yrs ago and the boat still looks great today....

Any Dupont dealer should have Nasson paints.
