9in rearend into a fox chassis

I'm planning on putting a 9in in my 84 t-bird. I'm staying with the stock suspenion so I'll need brackets for the upper and lower control arms. I could make my own but was thinking maybe I would be able to buy them.

Re: 9in rearend into a fox chassis

Currie has them, as does Mark Williams, Moser, Strange, among others. I bought a set from Currie a while back for my Junkstang. I think they were about $75, IIRC. Hard part was setting up the rear end....sadly...I didn't get to do it. It was set up and welded in one day when I came in from work. And it's nowhere near straight in the chassis, but it does the job with a few "mods".

If your gonna add your own brackets, then why not make it a true four link and add a panhard rod.

I wish mine was done like that. I guess the 'good' thing about doing it the way I did, I can run street radial classes if I want to. Not that I do (most of the street radial classes are running 6.20's in the 1/8 now on STREET tires--not DR's--but if I ever did......

First project before I do that to the Mustang is to backhalf dad's Fairmont. It'll be a true 4 link/coil over setup with 14x32's. Not anytime soon--got enough projects now--but some time in the future.

Unless you set-up a jig and get everything strait its probably better to buy the housing already built and complete. IMO

dfree is probably right. I do believe that housings can be had pretty cheap and they're already jig-welded. I think Currie had them for around $200 a while back.

Re: 9in rearend into a fox chassis

I will build a jig using my 8.8. I'm steel fabricator so that is not a problem. I'm not going to back half the car as I want to be able to bolt the 8.8 back in.
Thanks for the ideas.

What part of the Great White do you live? There is a one ready to go w/ 3.55's and tracloc in the Seattle area for sale for $350 - can't hardly build one for that much!!
