Edelbrock 351 c performer heads.

Hi there. I'm thinking about buying a set of edelbrock 351c performer heads. I was going to run my 4 v heads but after reading the article on cleveland heads I may have changed my mind. I would like to hear from someone who is running a set of edelbrock heads for clevelands. My block has been bored 30 over. I have trw flat top pistons. I will be running a ford motorsports cam M6250 A 341 in 292 / exh 302. lift .510 in. and .536 e. I'm also thinking about buying the air gap intake manifold with a 600 or 750 holley carb This engine will be installed in my 92 lx hatchback. It will have a t-5 or t-56 trans. What do you guys think about this setup ?

IMHO, the ebrock heads are way over priced for what they are. If you want a "real" aftermarket head, get CHI or AFD. My ported 2Vs flow as good as the E heads and probably work as well except for the combustion chamber. My 351C 4V makes more power with iron 4V heads, home ported with Parker port tongues than E made with their heads on a 377 CID test motor.

Ditto. Don't waste money on Edelbrock heads. If you already have the 4Vs then you won't find any more power by going with a 2V anything.

That is as long as they are CC heads. Edel's 351C heads suck, plain and simple. They are a street head and nothing more.

If you wanna spend some dough on some AL heads get the CHI's.

I recon on his particular build with small cam etc, a set of AFD 2V heads would work better than 4V.s
The AFD probably flow better than a stock 4V head, but with only a 205cc inlet port, and an exhaust port that flows real good. And being alloy, you can up the compression a bit without detonation.
I run 11.7 compression with my AFD's with pump fuel and it loves it and my Falcon is pretty heavy.

Never hear of anyone using the Edelbrock Cleveland head. Edelbrock must have a bunch of em sitting around collecting dust. Be nice if Edelbrock would recycle all of that aluminum they wasted on that head and build a good Cleveland head.

Thanks for the info. What do you think about power heads 2-v ausse. heads. I'm driving the car mostly on the street it might see a little time at the local track. I'm a cleveland guy and I would rather run the cleveland than a windsor. I like most all the ford engines but like I said I'm a cleveland fan.

The main reason I was thinking of running the 4-v heads I got them for free and they have been sitting around collecting dust the last few years!

By all means use what you have on hand. The 4V heads are a great piece.
