Can anyone identify rocker arm stand C4AE 6531C?

I have a 427 center oiler engine with low riser heads. I am having trouble with my push rod alignment and I was wondering if I have the correct rocker arm stands. The rocker arm stands on my engine have part number
C4AE 6531C on them. Are these correct for my engine set up? If not what does this number fit?

The Part number you gave C4AE 6531 C breaks down something like this

C- 1960s decade
4-196"4" year of decade
A- Full Size Ford (read Galaxie)
E- Engine component
6531- Part number
C- third version of this part

A quick google check revealed the following:
C1AZ 6531 A 61-64 ROCKER ARM STAND
it did not specify the engine group. The "Z" in C1AZ in this example is for a Ford division service replacement part, the A after the part number represents the first generation of this part in the example

Hope this helps

Re: Can anyone identify rocker arm stand C4AE 6531C?

OK.... after a little more research the following was found in "The Ultimate American V8 Engine Data Book"
Ultimate American V-8 Engine Data ... - Google Book Search

under the 427 MEDIUM riser "The MR was available from 1965 to 1967.......... Because the valves were larger and spread further apart, they required wider rocker stand shafts, Part Number C5AE 6531 A"

Using the formula in the previous post this would be your part number manufactured in 65 as a first generation part. As your part number was made in 64 and MR stand shafts which were supposedly wider to accomodate larger valves started production in 65, I wouldnt think that you had MR shafts. The High Riser heads were available in 64 according to this book but the preview does not go far enough to give a part number.

Re: Can anyone identify rocker arm stand C4AE 6531C?

Bumblebee,

Thanks for your reply, my 427 is a late year 1963 center oiler. One of my reference books shows that a C3AZ 6531A is the correct set of stands for my engine. If what you indicated is correct then my C4AE 6531C stands should be correct just a year newer. The C is what had me puzzled but if what you are saying is correct then it is just the third version of the same part. So, I guess I need to be looking at the length of my push rods.

Thanks again for your help.
