Pertonix flamethrower II coil and ignitor I

Can you use the flamethrower II coil with the original Ignitor I module or will this cause a problem. I actually have a ignitor II but I have been informed that it requires full 12v but the original can run on less. All I really wanted to do was upgrade my coil from a stock one.

Thanks
Greg
