Re: 351c street sometimes strip

The Airgap will work with either 2V or 4V heads. I have not personally tried one yet but from what I have come accross, the results have been very good with both types of heads.

Sounds like a really bad idea. You have fun with that. LOL! Seriously, I'll withhold final judgement until I see somebody actually try it. The thing is, the 2 bbl port is not only smaller, it's in a different location.

Re: 351c street sometimes strip

well then the torker will be fine, i didnt want a dual plane intake, i have had bad luck with them plus that im running 1000 to 6500 ish so a single will work best.

any idea on hp or times it might run with a 3.80 and 4 speed

Yea, I know where you're coming from paulie... from actual results with both heads, they seem to be the goods for a street engine but will also reserve my decision till I try one myself as well. They are intended for use with both types of heads....even with the port mismatch....it ain't about size, its about velocity.
Machone, I would expect you should make around 440fwhp with stock heads and an XE284.... but you will give away alot of street manners with that cam/setup.

Re: 351c street sometimes strip

The H-288 should make a little over 400 - provided you zero deck the block and everything else is spot on. A dual pattern cam is a better deal in a 4V engine because the exhaust is worse on a 4V head than a 2V. If both are ported, the 2V is typically still better. If you spin an H-288 to 6500 you're just showing off, the cam will like to be shifted at 5800~6000.

If you want to run a dual plane on a 4V, run an Ed 4V dual plane because it puts the exit to the manifold port in the high activity portion of the 4V port. The new Air Gap does not - can't because the ports won't line up with a 2V port. Just sticking the higher velocity flow into the 4V port will help some, but it's far from optimal.

As far as ET - don't think you said what kind of car this is going in.

Ed Air Gaps make big power into the 6500 range. carjunkietv.com just did a dyno test with a dual plane vs a Victor single and the dual held it's own against the signal and typically made more torque in the range you specified.

A 650DP will probably run better on the engine also.

Re: 351c street sometimes strip

The motor is going into a 67 mustang coupe. I have a torker and money is tight. I got the comp cams dyno and it said around 420hp do ya think a duel plane would be that much better

Re: 351c street sometimes strip

A dual plane will be great for the mileage/street driven. A single plane will be better for all out performance.
