F-150 302 belt tensioner removal

I have a 95 F-150 and am going to be replacing the belt tensioner has the T50 bolt head
I started to loosen it up and got to thinking is this thing going to unwind and pop
me in the face? lol

you didn't take off the belt? I'd imagine if you tried to remove the tensioner or the bracket while under pressure from the belt you'd risk damaging the threads, and if you ever got it off, you'd risk damaging your face as well...

I removed the belt tension and mine came off with no problems..

No. when you take the belt off those unit's that are going bad actually DO look like they are going to FRAG on you . but you're pretty safe from that. Just take it off then lay it aside put on the new one and toss the old one in the bin.

If it's totally come apart while on the car there'd be no tension on it after taking the belt off anyhow.

Thanks and yes I took the belt off :p All my accessories where off
the last things to take off where the belt tensioner and the power steering

Funny too all pulleys where on by some type of bolt but no not the
power steering pulley damned interference fit
