289 hydraulic/roller & head swap ?'s

What modifications and/or parts are required in order to install the later-style valvetrain in the early 260/289 block?

Here's what I've got:
A cam out of a '93 Cobra, a complete 289 out of a '63 Galaxie, and a set of GT40P heads.
I don't have lifters or pushrods from the Cobra (they stayed in that motor).

I am aware of the early bellhousing bolt pattern and trans differences and I've got that part figured out already.

I have never messed with the older blocks before... fill me in!

Thanks

Re: 289 hydraulic/roller & head swap ?'s

The lifter bores are shorter on the old engines so the only way to use a new cam is with some very expensive roller lifters with th link bar. Cost wise it would be cheaper to get a flat tappet cam, use the heads and valve train, and get the right push rods.
