few bits of info needed
first off, what bolts do i need for intake? length, threads, and what grade?
i pulled the oil pan off yesterday, and on the rods/caps its stamped with a cylinder number, im assuming this means the motor has been rebuilt?
also i was reading the wikipedia on the 351w series engines and found out why the mexican block is special, how do i tell if mine is a mexi block?

Re: few bits of info needed
Never heard of a Mex 351w. I've heard of/seen of Mex 302's but never a 351w...not to say that they weren't made. I'm sure there are some out there, somewhere.
Intake bolts--do yourself a favor and pick up some 5/16-18 by 3" long studs and matching grade 8 hardened washers and flange nuts. It makes installing the intake SUPER easy and it torques down properly the first time. Factory length bolts are, IIRC, 2 1/4" long 5/16-18 flange head bolts.
If the rods are stamped with their cooresponding cylinder number, that doesn't necessarily mean that its' been rebuilt. There were some like that right off the assembly line.

Yes to mavman. If you use aluminum heads I would use studs for sure. If you use a regular bolt I would use a thick washer, a quality bolt, and thead lube.

The rods were numbered from the factory.

There was a Mexican 351w--they can sometimes be found in boats. Every once in awhile they turn up on ebay, but they are indeed rare. The block casting # starts with a number and the whole thing looks like 77ay-6015-aa and they have the Mexican stamping in the lifter valley.
They are similiar to the 71-74 standard 351w castings and are know to have big main caps and a couple of strange looking knobs near the timing cover. Other than that, no different than your run of the mill 351w block.
Here is a pic of one I snagged a long time ago.
Note the "Mexico" casting in the valley and that the distributor sits 1" lower than a 289/302.
