Re: noisy overhead

I run a 9" w/4.11 locker, C-6, and homemade traction bars that hook up pretty well w/slicks. My 351c ran @90 mph in 110 degree heat, so I should be able to get well into 13`s. My goal is mid 12`s N/A with this motor. 8/9/08-I found my problem. Inner springs had an 1/8" gap between spring and retainer. Were slapping together when valves opened. Thanks to all who gave advise. Now to get this pig ready to run and hit the track. Thanks again.

Re: noisy overhead

WOO HOO, I found my problem. Took springs off to change out, found that inner springs had a gap of about 1/8" to the retainer. When valves opening springs were slapping against retainers. Now to get this pig running better, then hit the track. Thanks to all who gave feedback.

Re: noisy overhead

When I installed my double springs I noticed they are not at the same height, I thought it is normal, isn't it?
