302 Oil Pan

I'm looking for some more ground clearance for my TR6 with a 302. Will a late model double sump (fox body?) gain me anything. The car is lower than stock and I've bottomed the front bowl sump a few times. This morning there was a puddle of oil so it must have cracked....again.

Re: 302 Oil Pan

Nice TR6 Yes, it should gain you some extra clearance, not only is it a dual sump, but it is a 4 quart system. Something I'm not crazy about, you just have to keep a close eye on the oil level, even 1 quart low can cause pressure drops under hard acceleration when your motor needs oil.

Re: 302 Oil Pan

Thanks pacefever79. I'm assuming the new pick up tube will bolt to the oil pump in the older 302.

Re: 302 Oil Pan

Tube will bolt to the pump but you will also need the main cap bolt with the stud to support the rear sump pickup. If you are using an older block you will need the pan with the dipstick in the side. Later blocks had the dipstick in the side of the block.
