Hope it helps you out. Im sure guys run their engines for a long time without checking this with no issues, or maybe it would lead to premature wear, or just run like crap.
Im sure any race engine builders here would give you a much more advanced "correct" way making this way look half ass to them, and also go into extreme detail on the geometry of valve train components but then again your not spinning your motor to 8 or 9k rpm!
Yes, should be good. I have the 5/16 pushrods, your guide plates should be the same width as to not allow the pushrod to wiggle, letting the the rocker wiggle.
Oh and im assuming you know not to set valve lash like you would on a solid lifter, when you build the motor and have all the pushrods you set the lash to 0 then crank id down 1/2 to 1/4 of an extra turn to set the preload. In finding pushrod length your preloading with dimes, set the lash to zero (meaning no vertical wiggle!) and dont turn the extra 1/2 1/4 turn.
