Re: New heads - PS and ALT don't line up
That's messed up bro. Looks like it's time to cut and weld and modify and streatch....
Wonder why it's so far off the mark....

Looks like time for some metal welding cutting or hitting a wrecking yard. You sure do like the silicone gasket maker don't you?

Re: New heads - PS and ALT don't line up
looks like you just have to line up those original brackets to where they need to be and redrill the holes

Re: New heads - PS and ALT don't line up
I can't use the original brackets. The holes are far enough off to not be able to use them.

Re: New heads - PS and ALT don't line up
Sorry your having such a hard time. I ended up researching all the brackets before I started on my motor. Hopefully you know someone who can fab something up for ya. When you finally get it all done........it will be worth the wait. Don't try to rush things or you'll get too worked up. I use to be like that too.

Re: New heads - PS and ALT don't line up
Maybe try a 70-79 351W ps bracket instead?

Re: New heads - PS and ALT don't line up
Looks like you need the threaded inserts that fit into the large threaded hole, and the right size steering pump bolt and spacer. I thought origanally Ford used a 351 specific bracket for the P/S and that T shaped adapter for just the alt. I could be wrong.

Good point -- you do have the threaded adapters in the heads, right?????
They don't come with heads...

You're right, I don't have the plugs. I just ordered a set. I hope this is the fix.
I do have the PS adapter needed to bolt to the heads, it's sitting on top of the PS pump in the pic. And the bolt but I wanted to mount it to the bracket so I just rigged that up and used the threaded rod to show how off it is.
The T shaped is for the alt.
