Yeah, right on the higher RPM for the advance springs ..... if everything is working as it should. The plates and weights sometimes get gummed up and stick or don't "flow" properly. I've also had a worn bushing, the one in the Dist. shaft, wear and allow the timing to jump all over the place. It was very erratic and a bugger to diagnose.
I guess this is why new "mechanics" just swap out parts now and don't bother fixing anything. "Let's try this. Well that didn't work, how about one of these ......" And it is why most of us have garages full of parts to swap out, well that's my excuse.
