65 ford fairlane wagon

hello, i am considering buying a 65 fairlane wagon and have a few questions, first its equipped with a factry 289 and my question is would it be a 5 bolt bellhousing block, secondly would 2 grand be too much for it? 1965 Ford Fairlane it is a very clean car inside and out, like a little ole lady car really

2k is a deal. Lucky for you it is 1000 miles from here. Otherwise it would be in my garage. Not sure on the five bolt but there are plenty of 6 bolt blocks around.

think i'm gonna get it if i can get ahold of the guy, but the question is, what front end does the 65 share with stuff? will mustang parts interchange? also will a windsor or a big block fit in it?

Re: 65 ford fairlane wagon

The 289 went from five bolt to six bolt mid year in '64. Thank goodness!

That is one sweet looking ride. I was looking to buy a '63 Fairlane 500 wagon but the freight to bring it home was the deal killer. Wagons are becoming the new craze.

Later!

Re: 65 ford fairlane wagon

as long as that car is as solid as it looks in the pic i think you have a deal. as long as your someone who enjoys 4dr wagons...

as far as hood clearence you can pretty much fit whatever you want under there. i'd imagine that huge boat not getting anywhere in a big hurry with only a stock 289 under the hood anyway
