Re: one wire hook up 100 amp chrome alternators
Don't know of your application but, sometimes rotating the crank as you are pulling the pan out can help.

Re: oil pan questions
changed oil pump and screen and that little rod dohicky that goes to the dist. ,,,,oh i forgot to mention the reason i changed all this was because i had a tick after it warmed up and the oil light flickered after warmup ... well i changed to a high volume oil pump and screen and my new chrome pan and all looked well ,,til it warmed up and you guessed it tick tick tick ,,,doing the same thing ...i have a 1965 ford galaxie sitting out back with a good running 352 engine in it and im fixin to change the engines around if i have to..was hoping for a quick fix in the one i have in it now before i did all that..my car is a beautiful red with a white top 1964 galaxie 500 xl .... and id like to get that problem fixed before spring car shows ,,,or maybe ill sell it on ebay with the problem it has now ...

Re: 352 engine isnt oiling the top
i changed oil pump with a high volume pump and its doing the same thing ,,what i didnt do was prime the new pump ,,i guess i dont know how ,,,anyways got it back together and after a few minutes running it starts ticking again ...so i take the valve cover off and theres very very little oil coming out of a few of the pushrods..i bought another car just for the good running 352 engine if push comes to shove at least i can change engines..whats your input ?change engines or try and rescue this one ,,or change engines and rebuild the one i take out later...

Re: oil pan questions
change engines and rebuild the one i take out later... That gets my vote. You can take your time and rebuild the old one and still drive the car!

Re: oil pan questions
30 minutes is a long time to be warmed up for something to happen.
Look around your exhaust manifolds where they meet the heads. If you’re running gaskets then there will probably be a small about of carbon buildup near any hole that exhaust could come out. It could also look like the gasket is breaking down. If you find something like that then it would be your culprit.
It sounds like an issue I had with the same sound. The manifolds warmed up and got to tickin'.
