Injector question

I am gathering parts for my 5.0L EFI conversion for my 64 Fairlane and I so far was going to use a stock 89 Mustang upper and lower with the stock 19lb injectors and electronics. Today I picked up an 98 Explorer intake complete with throttle body and injectors. These injectors are smaller diameter and have 4 small hole in the end as compared to the older ones that look to have just a "pin" in the end. Can I use these explorer injectors with the Mustang ecm? They physically will fit either intake, but I am wondering if they will be better or worse for performance. They are the same colour as the Mustang 19LB ones. Thanks

Re: Injector question

Check the resistance and post the part number off the Explorer ones.

Re: Injector question

Sounds like the Explorer has EV6 injectors. They use a different style connector than the EV1 so the harness can't hook up to them. They do sell adaptors though.

No the harness/connector is the same as the mustang ones. I will try to get some pictures of the two side by side and post them.

Re: Injector question

Pictures. From what I have read, the smaller diameter ones have a better spray pattern that atomizes the fuel better.
