Shifting it!

This is my last post related to the two just below. My '77 C4 used a column cable shifter. I want to put a hard (no cable) shifter on the floor. Doesn't have to be great, but must be reliable. What should I use? Thanks, Polkat.

Lokar makes very good ones.Long enough and you don't have to remove the tranny.

Polkat, Your choice depends on how much you want to spend. I put a cheap, $75, Hurst in my pick up, temporarily. Years ago I put a B&M Star shifter, $145, in a '70 Mustang , and I loved it. I did not have to remove the transmission from either vehicle and only cut a small hole in the floor to install the shifters. I have never had a Lokar shifter but I hear they make a nice product.
