early 1-2 shift

just got it all back together teat drove and feels great!!!
just one thing it sees that 1-2 shift comes on way to soon, seems as if if wants to start in 2nd but the 2-3 shift seems to be in the right place. the 1-2 shift valve spring seemed bit suspect could a weak spring cause this to happen? If so could the accumlator spring or booster spring be used instead I think I have an extra one of each. I wouldn't know where to get the right spring it was hard enough trying to get the rebuild kit as it was.

Did you find the cause of the low pressure??
The best bet for the shift spring would be to look at some of the cheap shift improver kits, some of them replace the shift valve springs but not all kits do..
I don't know if the other springs would work..I suppose you could try as long as the replacement spring was a little stiffer but as long as it is weaker than the 2-3 spring.

Thanks for advice. I did find the cause of the low pressure and it was the pressure reg. valve sticking. I removed each valve in the body and sanded then in a drill press with emery paper till they would fall from the bore under there own weight. Till I find the spring I'll do a 1-2-D shift.
