I know I've flogged this subject to death but I was talking to the guy in Australia again today, he said he had seen this thread. Said he had spent alot of time in the US and been to quite afew drag meets there. He said to ask, that if the C4's are so reliable, why do the "heavy hitters" have atleast 3 or 4 trans...one in the car, one in the trailer and one getting fixed ??

You have to decide on your comfort level with running a C-4. I would suggest your guy in Aussie would be a poor choice for a builder, it would "destined to fail" so he would not even try. He bought a hi dollar glide from someone who knew what they were doing and it has lived. He also bought a really good converter and went quicker.
I firmly beleive the C-4 can do nearly the same thing. The parts in a C-4 are too small to last forever and there will be maintanence to be done, his glide will break also though.
Buy a PA Super Comp C-4 and a good converter and you will be happy with the setup.
But if you start building your own C-4 then curse it and me during the learning cuve then you would be better off with the glide.
