Sanity Check...re-building a C4

I'm rebuilding my first C4 (or any tranny for that matter) and I've been using the Haynes Techbook and it walked me through just about every step.

Everything came apart and went together just as the book explained.

I just pushed on the pump housing and am ready to bolt the bell housing on.

I there anything I can do at this point to see it I did everything right?

I haven't touched the VB yet...I was waiting until I cleared the workbench of all the other parts before I started.

BTW...the book says the pump housing should be flush with the case. Mine sticks out about a 1/32. The edge of the housing is beveled and the lower edge is the part that is even with the case. thoughts?

thanks all....g

Have you done a air check of the the assmebly?

You can do that with the valve boby off.

apply air pressure to the fluid passages located where the vb bolts to the case.

OK...thanks...I'll try it...as I was cleaning by VB, i carefully removed each valve and found one without a spring. Is this OK? In the Haynes Techbook, they show a typical vb and it shows a spring for each valve...but then again, my vb vvalves look nothing like in the book. Mine is completely different.

Do you guys know where I could get pictures of the various VBs? Mine is a 65. I drove a trany for about 4 miles before the teardown started, The only problem I felt was a slow shifting between the gears.

thanks
