reverse manual and the governor
okay, just got my PA Reverse Manual in. Friend of mine got one and it was cut out of a chunk of alluminum, but his was a custom order with engine braking in 2nd and 3rd.
Mine is the standard unit, with engine braking in 1st only (and to my surprise, was *not* cut out of a chunk of alluminum, but was a modified original valve body). I called them up to see if I could just pull the governor and lines out during the install (since that is what I did on my friends cuz the passageways were never cut in the alluminum base). They say that I need to take it apart and put the governor back in.....
This is puzzling me. Should I just tap and plug the governor feed lines in the case, like I've heard others say. Anyone know enough about these to tell why anyone would need to leave the governor on for proper functionality?
Thanks!
Justin
