Why isn\'t Kickdown Necessary?
I have a D5, pan fill, rollerized C-4 in my 79 Coupe with 351W. It has the Gregaust stage IV valve body modification from burly4x4.com. I hooked up a Lokar C-4 kickdown cable, and my friend says that the kickdown is not necessary. I disagree. I feel that at WOT on the strip, with a basically stock V.B., I need all the line pressure I can get for the firmest of shifts. I'm no expert, but I'm hoping somebody here more knowledgeable can explain WHY it is, or is not necessary. Thanks for any replys.
