2-3 FLARE IS THIS BECAUSE I HAVE NO KICK DOWN LINKAGE?

I JUST PUT A C4 INTO MY 87 EFI CAR. I DID NOT PUT A KICKDOWN LINKAGE SETUP ON IT AND I THINK THIS MAY BE MY PROBLEM WITH THE FLARE. 1-2 IS STRONG 2-3 FLARES BUT NOT AT LOW RPM. I ADJUSTED THE BAND WITH LITTLE LUCK. WILL A MANUAL VALVE BODY CURE THIS AS WELL. I BOUGHT THIS TRANS FROM A GUY THAT SAID HE JUST HAD WORK DONE TO IT WITH 10,000 MILES ON IT AFTER THE WORK. ALSO I HAVE A 3000 STALL. I AM THINKING OF A NEW SERVO ALSO. IF I NEED THE KICK DOWN ANY ONE EVER MAKE ONE FOR A EFI CAR THANKS

Well you can just lock the down shift lever in the "on" position. But think you need to make sure your Direct/high clutches are not burnt.

Down shift rod won't help, I never run them. As said before clutches are a possibility. A valve body will usually cure this problem if the trans is in good shape. You can really only make it better with the upgrades.

what kind of valve body do you recomend? also should i try replacing the servo? it did get a little better with the adjustment. i will try the valve body first i really do not want to take the trans out . i have another one i was given and i think i am going to build this one from the ground up. any suggestions thanks this site is great
